The Maldives Charter Experience

Imagine waking up each morning surrounded by turquoise water and sailing to a new reef or island.

For eight days, our group will explore the Maldives aboard a traditional dhoni sailing boat, moving between remote reefs, quiet islands, and vibrant coral lagoons.

Instead of staying at a single resort, this experience allows us to explore multiple atolls and snorkeling sites, many of which are the same locations visited by luxury resorts but without the resort price tag.

Meet Intrepid

I’ve loved partnering with Intrepid Travel to bring these group trips to life. They go above and beyond to help me create experiences that feel just like how I travel—local, meaningful, and a little off the tourist trail.

They help me stick to a realistic budget without sacrificing quality, so you get an unforgettable trip that doesn’t break the bank.

And since Intrepid is a certified B-Corp, you can feel good knowing your travel dollars support ethical, sustainable tourism that benefits local communities.

Is the Maldives Charter Right for You? Probably.

What I love most about hosting group trips is creating truly memorable travel experiences. Exploring the Maldives by private charter boat with a small group is exactly that.

Instead of staying at a single resort, we’ll spend the week sailing between islands, snorkeling vibrant coral reefs, and experiencing local island life along the way. It’s relaxed, beautiful, and a completely different way to see the Maldives.

This is the kind of trip where you’ll spend your mornings snorkeling in crystal-clear water, your afternoons relaxing on deck or visiting small island communities, and your evenings watching sunsets from the middle of the Indian Ocean.

That said, here are a few things to know to make sure this trip is the right fit:

  • This is a boat-based trip. We’ll be living aboard our dhoni for the week, sailing between atolls and spending most of our time on the water.
  • Cabins are comfortable but compact, with two bunks and a private ensuite bathroom in each room. Think cozy boat living rather than luxury resort rooms.
  • Snorkeling is a big part of the experience. While you don’t need to be an expert, you should feel comfortable swimming and getting in and out of the water.
  • The pace is relaxed, but we’ll still be active with snorkeling stops, island visits, and cultural experiences throughout the week.
  • We’ll visit local islands, which means respecting local customs. On inhabited islands modest clothing is recommended (covering shoulders and knees).
  • This trip is about nature, ocean life, and shared adventure rather than luxury resort amenities.

If you’re excited about turquoise water, incredible marine life, small island culture, and a week sailing through one of the most beautiful places on earth, you’re in the right place.
