Meet Intrepid

I’ve loved partnering with Intrepid Travel to bring these group trips to life. They go above and beyond to help me create experiences that feel just like how I travel—local, meaningful, and a little off the tourist trail.

They help me stick to a realistic budget without sacrificing quality, so you get an unforgettable trip that doesn’t break the bank.

And since Intrepid is a certified B-Corp, you can feel good knowing your travel dollars support ethical, sustainable tourism that benefits local communities.

Is Egypt right for you? Probably.

What I love about hosting group trips is creating truly memorable experiences. Exploring Egypt—through ancient ruins, modern tea shops, overnight trains, and river sails—with a small group and a local guide? That’s one of those once-in-a-lifetime adventures.

This is the kind of trip where you’ll walk through tombs carved thousands of years ago, eat koshary at a local café, share dinner with a Nubian family, and fall asleep on a sailboat under the stars. It’s layered, magical, and absolutely unforgettable.

That said, here are a few things to know to make sure this trip is the right fit:

  • This is a fast-moving itinerary. You’ll cover a lot of ground in just over a week, including two overnight train rides and multiple cities.
  • Egypt can be unpredictable in the best way—expect a bit of dust, a bit of sun, and a lot of surprises.
  • Some accommodations (like the train and felucca) are more about experience than luxury. If you’re up for a little adventure, you’ll love it.
  • We’ll be walking through ancient sites with uneven paths, and you’ll want comfy shoes and good sun protection.
  • You’ll get a real taste of Egyptian food and hospitality—so bring your appetite (and maybe some snacks if you have dietary restrictions).
  • Cultural norms are different here. Modest dress is appreciated, especially at religious or traditional sites.

If you’re ready for history, hospitality, and a whole lot of heart—this trip’s for you.
