Can you visit Las Vegas on a budget? Money-saving tips below!

Absolutely you can visit Las Vegas on a budget! And, honestly, you’ll probably have a better time. Thinking like a local and stepping out of the tourist experiences Las Vegas has will give you the opportunity to save thousands of dollars on your trip.

I spent $100 in a day for two people in Las Vegas. See how I did it.

There are a few ways to visit Las Vegas on a budget but here are a few of my must-do tips to save. First, get off The Strip as much as you can. There are plenty of affordable things to do and great food, too. Run the numbers but it’s likely cheaper to eat and visit attractions off The Strip than it is to stay on The Strip or take ride shares around.

Second, take advantage of your hotel points and miles and status matching for huge savings. Depending on your hotel program and your status you might qualify for free nights, no resort fees, and more on stays on The Strip. Or, your hotel credit card’s free night certificate can be a good option. For example, along with its many other perks, the Hilton Aspire comes with a free night certificate that’s perfect to use at the Waldorf-Astoria.

Finally, do your research. Deals do exist even in one of the most expensive US cities to travel to… you just have to know how to find them. One of the easiest ways to is to use my FREE search term guide to find things like a $5.99 breakfast on The Strip.

Six ways to earn discounts for Las Vegas attractions

Use Vegas.com to find cheap attractions and shows

Vegas.com includes a deals page with huge savings on a variety of attractions around town. You can save up to 50% on shows and attractions booking through their website! The best time to book your tickets is no more than 24 hours before the performance. You’ll receive the biggest discounts.

TRAVEL TIP! Be sure to download Rakuten and earn an additional 2-5% cash back on your booking. Even better? Use my referral code for $30 back after your first purchase of at least $30.

Skip the tours and drive yourself

If you’re interested in heading to the Hoover Dam or Seven Magic Mountains you’re far better off renting a car and heading there yourself on a day trip. While the Hoover Dam’s power plant tour is $15 per person, a tour on Viator sells for $70 per person.

Find experiences on Groupon

There are hundreds of discounted experiences on Groupon that you can book to save money on your trip to Vegas. Even top attractions on The Strip have huge discounts on Groupon, like half price for the Observation Wheel and 30% off the Comedy Cellar.

Run the numbers for a Go City pass

Go City is a program that gives you a better price on multiple experiences for one bulk price. The issue? If you don’t do all of them you actually might not be saving anything. Price out the experiences you want to do individually and compare it to Go City before purchasing.

Take advantage of experiences off The Strip

If you book a rental car you have unlimited possibilities of how you can entertain yourself and most of these experiences will be much less. You can easily spend an afternoon at Area 15 and Container Park and spend just a fraction of what you would elsewhere in town.

TRAVEL TIP! Book your rental car with AutoSlash.com to get the best price on rental cars simply.

Free things to do are your friend

Las Vegas has plenty of free things to do if you know where to look. Here are a few of my favorite free things to do:
